Sodapop is an indie pop rock band made up of real people and fictional characters. Founded in the 90s, its members are still in their twenties. Their bilingual lyrics, in English and Portuguese, seamlessly shift from the poetry of a serene morning at the beach to the melancholy of a broken heart. Known for their soft female vocals and vibrant melodies, Sodapop has never released an album or performed in concerts. The band is mentioned in literary works and their compositions were featured in movie soundtracks, enhancing the mystery surrounding them. Fans claim, however, that two founding members often give intimate jam sessions at random dawns, which has guaranteed the band’s longevity. Interestingly, one member reportedly despises the name “Sodapop” but has never managed to persuade the others to change it.
Quem escreveu esse texto sabe NADA de Sodapop!!! Primeiro que não é “banda”, é um coletivo musical pelo qual já passaram mais de uma dezena de artistas e colaboradores deixando uma marca indelével na cena underground, como eu escrevi no meu zine na época. Outro absurdo dizer que “não tem registro de album e show”. Eu estava lá em vários, incluindo o épico show de reveillon no The Place. Pergunta pra qualquer um na galera do Polígono. SÓ QUEM VIU SABE! A ignorância desses “jornalistas” de hoje não vai apagar as demos em fita K7 que eu tenho até hoje apesar da minha ex ter roubado uma delas e a outra ter sido meio mastigada pelo MOTORADIO do carro do meu pai nem vai apagar a memória dessa época que não volta mais, mas os caras estão aí fazendo a arte subterrânea porque hoje em dia só assim!!!
